Led by Kay Toledo’s 5 goals, the Hardy Herons dominated the Green Archers in a 12-0 victory.
The Herons went off to a quick start in the first period, as Cherrylyn Romarate scored the first goal just under three minutes in with a shot at the lower left corner, Kay Toledo then followed that up with another shot seconds later at the same spot. Toledo would later follow that up with a score off a steal with 4 minutes left in the period.
With three minutes remaining in the first, an illegal substitution cost the Herons two players, leaving the Archers with a 5 on 3 advantage, but the Archers could not capitalize and committed violations of their own with players sent off due to a high stick violation and an illegal substitution.
In the 2nd Period, Jennilyn Galan scored a goal from the center at just over a minute in the period, while Romarate added two goals, using a left side drive to finish up a hat-trick. Toledo then completed a hat trick of her own with a shot off a drive.
Already with a 7-0 advantage heading into the 3rd period, the Herons showed no signs of slowing down as Hannah Grace Tayong scored two quick goals to push the lead to 9. Toledo added a goal off an assist by Romarate, then added her fifth goal seconds later with a shot off a hit-in. Tayong then added a final goal with over two minutes remaining to finish off a hat-trick of her own to put the Herons up by 12.
The Herons put the Archer’s Julienne Loresco to work as she recorded 19 saves in the loss while Jewel Grace Judi put up 4 for her side.
