Pasig City-- The first match in the PFL Season 2 League Women’s Division ended in a draw between the UP Innebandits and the UA&P Dragons.
The first two periods were breathtaking as while the Innebandits made good plays, the Dragons would find ways to counter them. Both of the teams’ excellent defensive positioning saved them from each others systematic plays.
But one minute and two seconds into the third period, Innebandits Rookie Anisette Albano scored the first goal of the game. However, the Innebandits’ lead was shortlived,as Xybyl Descalzo was left open and scored for her Dragons, tying the game at 1 apiece.
Although both teams showed signs of fatigue, both teams continued to push, execute their plays, and make good attempts. But no one could crack the winning goal as goalkeepers Fralyn Silva and Sherlyne Chua both held ground for their respective teams.
The Innebandits’ Silva ended the game with 10 saves, while the Dragons’ Chua one-upped her with 11.
