Floorball Philippines conducted a two-day Floorball development seminar among faculty members of the Ateneo de Manila High School (HS) P.E. department. The seminar was held on May 17 and 21 at the Ateneo HS covered courts. The two-day seminar was participated by five (5) HS P.E. instructors of the Ateneo with the assistance of the UP Floorball Club. The seminar was designed to teach the necessary basic floorball skills including passing and receiving, shooting, dribbling, rules, gameplay, etc.
Floorball was first introduced to Ateneo back in 2000 when a Swede group demonstrated the sport and donated Floorball sticks and balls to the university. Thus, making Ateneo the first institution to be introduced to Floorball in the country. However, due to the lack of training and program, the Ateneo was not able to develop the sport since then. Floorball Philippines is honored to be able to help them "re-"start Floorball in their university.
Floorball is expected to be included in the 2nd term of the 3rd and 4th year HS P.E. program. The organization looks forward to the promotion and development of Floorball in one of the most prestigious universities in the country.
